monitor question
Question from Wayne: Hello. I just started tinkering with arcade games and I have really been enjoying your video’s. I have a question and was hoping you could help. I recently put a new multigame board in a cabinet that was running Golden Tee 2005. The monitor was working perfect before but after I put the new board in the monitor was kind of scrambled and had multiple images. I was able to adjust out the scramble but still have double and triple images. I did turn down the power supply adjustment on it to 4.9 as recommended by the board manufacturer, it was at 5.4 Any ideas? Thanks! Wayne

Unfortunately some Golden Tee cabinets use Medium Resolution monitors. These monitors operate at a different frequency and are less common than Standard Resolution monitors. The double and triple images is a dead giveaway that your using a Standard Resolution board on a Medium Resolution game.
The good news is that some monitors support both Medium and Standard Resolutions by changing a switch on the monitor chassis. You might look to see if you can find a switch like this on yours. You could also try putting your multiboard into the 31kHz mode to see if it works any better. Other than that your kinda stuck getting another monitor that supports Standard Resolution.
