monitor question
Question from Dusty: Hello, I have a slightly used Ms. Pac Man cocktail table. The monitor is the issue. It is nice, bright and clear; however, there are 2 small sections where the yellow and red aren’t as bright. The yellow is faded and the red in that area looks pink. I tried to adjust the colors but no luck. Does this need a cap kit or am I missing something? I’m new to arcades, I’m usually into pinballs. Please help. Thanks, Dusty

It is normal for there to be some discoloration on the monitor especially with cocktail cabinets. With that said, you might try using a handheld degaussing coil to see if that helps your issue. Check out our post on Using A Degaussing Coil for more information. You can also try rotating the cabinet 90 degrees to the right or left to see if it helps the discoloration problem. Keep in mind that your monitor should have a built in degaussing coil so you could try adjusting it so that it covers these areas better to see if it solves your problem as well. Hope that helps.
