Question from John: Hey!

First off I wanted to say thanks for making the podcast. I’ve learned a ton of stuff from you guys in the past few months and Im excited to learn more. I started collecting after I graduated from college in May and I have caught the arcade bug pretty bad.

Here is my monitor question. I picked up a Space Invaders Deluxe last week and I can’t figure out why the monitor doesn’t work. Im getting general illumination to the lights and I tested the power supply board to make sure the game pcb was getting the right power. (I think the board needs repaired because as soon as the game is on it makes the flying saucer sound constantly.) The monitor is getting 120v through the connector marked “A”. But after the Iso transformer (B) the readings are significantly lower. The highest reading I got was 60ish volts. There isn’t any neck glow, or anything. Im pretty lost with this and it being my first black and white monitor doesn’t help either. Let me know if any other information would be helpful. I don’t know a lot about monitors, but my guess would be the iso transformer. What do you think it is?
