Ms. PacMan Galaga repair?
Question from Chelan: Hi, my name is Chelan. I have a Ms. PacMan Galaga stand up arcade game. When you turn the power on (you have to hold the power button in for it to stay on), The sign light and the screen come on but it doesn’t play. The screen is all fuzzy and no images can be made out. There is color on the screen though. Do you know what repairs it needs and a price estimate?
Thank You,
Chelan

Response from Jonathan: Chelan,
From your description, it sounds like you’re either having a power supply or board issue. You will also need a new power button to keep the game on. You might have a monitor issue but it’s hard to tell when you don’t have a good signal getting to it. If you have a multimeter, you can check the voltage to see if your power supply is good. Check out our post on Checking A Classic Power Supply and Checking And Replacing A Power Supply for more information.
If your power supply is working, you might have an issue with your board. Unfortunately these boards are hard to work on as they are typically newer style JAMMA boards. In this case, it would be best just to buy a new one. A new board for this will run you about $200-$300 dollars depending on condition. Hope that helps.
Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
