Ms PacMan multicade

Recently I watched your video on replacing a MS PacMan board with a multicade and adapter. It appeared to be a pretty simple process and since our Ms PacMan died I decided to make it a multicade. I figured this would be a quick turn around however I ran into problems and wanted to know if you have ever seen anything similar. I’m a somewhat new member to KLOV forums and am searching it for answers as well. If you have any info or can direct me somewhere I’d appreciate it.
Here’s the issue.
Original (I believe) Ms PacMan cabinet. It died and I was pretty sure it was the board, it looks to have been repaired numerous times in its life.
I plugged in a Galaga board into the monitor and it works just fine.
I installed the multicade board and I get no video (well very small white lines on the screen). And the buttons, sound and joystick don’t work.
I plugged in a LCD monitor to the board and it works fine but still no buttons, joystick or sound.
I bought the multicade from The Cajun Arcade and bought the adapter from Arcade Shop. I called Arcade Shop and they said they hadn’t heard of any issue like that but it shouldn’t be the adapter causing the problem.
Any ideas of what to try next?
BTW- I like your videos and have learned a lot from them. Thanks for putting them out.

From everything you’ve described, it sounds like the multicade board is not getting the correct voltage when it’s in your Ms. Pac Man cabinet. Just wondering if you installed a switching power supply in the cabinet to power the multicade board. If you’ve seen our video on Installing A Multicade Upgrade Kit (For Pac Man Cabinets), you probably noticed that they gave us an ATX power supply to send power to the multicade board. This is because the multicade board will not run directly off of the AC voltages being supplied by the cabinet natively. A Ms. Pac Man board can convert these AC voltages to DC but the multicade board can’t and must be supplied DC voltage directly.
If everything is OK with the voltages getting to the board, you might try sending us some pictures of your setup so we can help you out further. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
