Ms. PacMan wiring
Question from Leif: Hello, I have an old Ms. Pac Man that I removed the blown monitor on and am now trying to wire up a video converter board and new LCD 4:3 aspect ratio monitor. I am learning quite a bit so far, but I don’t know wiring. Can you tell me what wires in the cabinet connect to the video converter board wires? I can’t seem to find a “how to” that shows the wires. If I have identified the monitor wires in my cabinet correctly, I have the following wires –
· Red with white stripe
· White with brown rings
· Yellow with black stripe
· Green with red stripe
· Orange with red stripe
· 2 orange together
I have watched a lot of your videos and find them helpful. Thanks, Leif

Response from Jonathan: Leif,
We usually don’t go by wire colors when we connect wires. The main reason for this is because the wire colors can be different depending on several factors (i.e. operator had to rewire something in the cabinet, factory used different wire colors depending on what was available, etc.). We recommend tracing the wires back to their source at the harness and comparing their positions to the pinouts for the game we are working on (in your case, Ms. Pac Man). Here is a pinout diagram for Ms. Pac Man: https://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/spies.cgi?action=url&type=pinout&page=Pac.html. You will notice that the video wires are located on pins 15, 16, 17 (Solder Side) and S, T, U (Parts Side). So, we would trace each wire down from the harness and build our own diagram for which wire color corresponds to each position on the harness. From here, you should be able to easily splice these wires into the wires for the adapter that came with your video converter board. Please let us know if you have any additional questions about the process.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
