Question from Oscar: Hi, my name is Oscar and I have an arcade machine. I’m running into a problem with my arcade monitor. Every time I put in a 250v 2A fuse in it burns it and I’m not sure why it’s doing that when I mess with the cables. Can you plz help?

Response from Jonathan: Oscar,

It sounds like you are having some wiring issues. Unfortunately there is no simple answer when it comes to troubleshooting issues like this. We recommend tracing down the wires that go to that particular fuse and see if they damaged. These wires may also be making a connection somewhere they shouldn’t due to a bad connector or other factors. Make sure that all of the wires are intact and that they are connected only where they should be connected. Also, check your manual or another resource to make sure that the fuse that you are using is the correct amperage.

I just noticed that you were blowing a fuse on your arcade monitor and not in the bottom of your cabinet. In this case, you might want to check out our post on Troubleshooting Games That Are Playing Blind. In that post, we talk about some of the step you need to take whenever you have an arcade monitor blowing fuses.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
