Please help me with this old Gorf machine
Question from Angel: Hi!!
My name is Angel im 17 about to graduate high school. I been wanting to learn how to fix arcade machines for a while now because me and my friend Tyler plan is to own an arcade in the future after college and such. So I was shocked to learn that one of the teachers I knew had an old arcade machine that had just been sitting in his room for years when I asked if I could mess with it and try to get it working he said sure!! So here I am a total noob given the task to fix this old Gorf machine and I have no idea where to start so I was wandering if you could help me out? I have taken some pictures of the Machine with my phone they are not the best but there better then nothing. I will also try to describe the problem to you so here it goes.
When you plug the machine in all the lights turn on and so does the screen but there is no sound and the screen is just green with vertical lines going down the first inch or so on the left side of the screen. So any advice on what to do would be great thanks for taking the time to read this read.

Response from Jonathan: Angel,
From your description, it sounds like you either have a board or a power supply issue. We always recommend starting with the power supply as this is a common point of failure. You will need to purchase a multimeter in order to check the power. The good news is that multimeters are fairly cheap and can be purchased at most major electronics retailers. Check out our post on Checking A Classic Power Supply for more information.
Another good tip is to look through the manual for Gorf. If you don’t have one, you should be able to find one by doing a internet search. The manual can tell you some valuable information about what types of voltages you should be getting on what pins on your harness. Please let us know once you have determined that your power supply is sending the correct voltage to the board and we’ll help you troubleshoot more from that point.
