please help me
Question from Chris: hi – my name is chris.
i hope you dont mind me writing to you, but i found your address off a forum about fixing jamma problems
well – i have one
i have a supergun – and i recently got a NUMAN ATHLETICS PCB – and the picture is really blurry
its like the brightness is too high – colour is wrong – everything
but you see its ok when the game is fading into another section
but ive tried turning the brightness and contrast on my tv – but nothing works
its really strange – cos i have the KILLER INSTINCT PCB’S – and they work perfect
so i know its nothing to do with my connections or tv
do you think it is something to do with the pcb ?
ive tried cleaning it with a rubber like you mentioned – but its not worked
i would just like some advice please
cos its been driving me crazy trying to figure out whats wrong
oh – ive tried it on another tv – an hd one – and i get a slightly better picture
but its still not perfect
so do you have any suggestions ?

Yep, based on your testing it does sound like a problem with the PCB.

It’s probably an issue with the video output on your main motherboard. Cleaning the board probably won’t help

It definitely sounds like you’re having a board issue. It looks like Numan Athletics has a self test that might be able to detect where the problem is. According to the manual (which can be found here), you can flip dip switch 1 to the on position with the game off and when you turn it back on it should boot you into the test menu. Check out our post on Adjusting Dip Switch Settings On A Board for more information. Try running each of theses tests to see if it finds any issues with your board.
Numan Athletics uses the Namco NA-2 system which has a separate ROM board and main board. If the issue turns out to be in your main board, you might be able to get your hands on another Namco NA-2 system main board and get your game working. Of course, you can also send your board off for repair or try to repair it yourself using the information from the self test. The choice is yours
