Power Supply

Question from Dustin: I have a Sly Spy arcade game that I am rebuilding. The power supply is bad. It is a Hitron Model HSA-130 with output of +5v 11a, -5v 1a and 12v 1a. Most of the ones I see online are +5v 16a or 15a. Can they be used or do I need to find one that is 11a? Thanks for your help. Dustin

Response from Jonathan: Dustin,

Yes, a power supply that puts out 15 or 16 amps on the +5 VDC line should be fine. You can always use a power supply that has a higher amperage. Just don’t use one that has less amps than what the game needs to operate properly. In your case, I doubt your Sly Spy even uses 11 amps. It’s probably closer to 4-5 amps or so. Hope that helps.
