Power supply question
Question from Bil: Hello I have a Homerun Derby baseball game. I changed out the power supply but think I do not have the wires correct on the new power supply. I hooked it up the way I thought was correct from the old power supply but the game does not come on. I included a picture of the power supply along with the wires inside the cabinet.
I have two red wires going the 12v. The two black wires to GND. The orange wire I am not sure where it should go. One green wire to AC 1 and the other to AC 2.
The game would fire up before I changed power supplies. Any information you could give me would be great.

Unfortunately there is not an official color coding system when it comes to voltage wires. The only way to know for sure which wires go where is to find the manual and see which wires match up with which voltages on the harness (where the board connects to the wiring). With that said, I can tell you that most games use red wires for +5 VDC, yellow wires for +12 VDC, white wires for -5 VDC, green wires for GND and black/white wires for AC. Again, this is what MOST games use but should not be used as a substitute for looking in the manual. If you hook the wires up incorrectly you can risk damaging your board.
Again, your best bet is to find (or buy) the manual for your game and trace the voltage wires from your harness to your power supply. This should ensure that the right pins are getting the correct voltage.
