Question from Lawrence: Hello, I have an original Atari Stand up Star Wars Arcade Game. This game has worked well for several years but is now not working. The power comes on (lights); however, there is only static sound and no picture. Originally when the game started going out the teaser screen was fine, along with sound but during play the moving ships were very distorted (elongated). This sometimes would stop and the game would play fine, but eventually it reached the current condition. I live in Central Indiana and cannot seem to find anyone to repair the game. No one has returned my phone calls or E-mails. I have two questions: based on my poor description above, do you have any thoughts as to a possible cause? And would your set of videos help me work on and repair this older arcade game? I have good experience with soldering have worked a little on circuitry, and know how to use a volt / ohm meter. I do not have an oscilloscope or any advanced equipment. I do not want to attack this game unless I have a good chance of fixing it. Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.
