Repairs

Question: Greetings. I have a couple older games and I’m trying to learn how to work on and repair them because there’s no one in the area that does. I have an Arachnid Top Gun Galaxy dart board with an offset monitor to the left. It worked fine for about 15 minutes and then it got a little bit of a swirl on the monitor. Then it went dead, no sound, my lamp lights still work but I get nothing out of the rest of the machine. That’s basically what I’m going to be working on and I can’t find any information. I do know that the power supply that’s in it was inspected in 1993. Anything additional that you can send me or help me with on this machine? I would be greatly appreciative.

Response from Jonathan: It sounds like you might be having an issue with your board and possibly your monitor. It’s always a good idea to start at your power supply with repairs such as this to make sure that all of the parts are getting the correct voltage (especially your board). Unfortunately we are not very familiar with these coin-operated dartboards but I did find a page that has a lot of information about them. The page itself has been taken down but the Internet Archive still has a copy of it. Here’s the link: http://web.archive.org/web/20120826211945/http://www.leagueleader.net/bullshooter/support-3/legacy-products-2/galaxy-series-dartboard. Of course, please feel free to contact us again if you have any specific questions about what you find once you open up your game and start your repair.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
