Replacing 25″ monitor with 19″ monitor ega
Question from Tim: Hi, I have a Jurassic Park Lost World game which originally came with a med resolution/EGA 25″ monitor (or maybe a little larger, I tested it with a 25″ tri-sync monitor from a different game to verify that it work ok). I have a 19″ med resolution/EGA monitor (a Wells Gardner K4915) that I want to put in it for now. Before going to the trouble to put it in, I’m testing the monitor with an NFL Blitz PCB (in med resolution mode) but the picture is too far right (won’t adjust left far enough). Can I swap 19s for 25s and adjust out the difference? Thanks! Tim

Response from Jonathan: Tim,
Yes, typically you can use a 19″ monitor in place of a 25″ monitor and not have any problems. You may need to do some adjustments but that should be the extent of the work you need to do. Very strange that the NFL Blitz board is having the positional problems with the 19″ monitor. We highly recommend checking out the input wiring to make sure that the sync wire from the NFL Blitz is going to the correct pin (or pins) on the monitor chassis. Also, you might try moving the 19″ to the back of the Jurassic Park Lost World cabinet and hook it up before you actually install it in the cabinet just to see if it has the same problem as the NFL Blitz board. This would also be a good test before going to the trouble of mounting the 19″ monitor in place of the 25″ monitor in the cabinet.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
