Taito Space Invaders II problem
Question from Glenn: Hey, I recently picked up a taito space invaders 2 cocktail machine that powers up and shows the title screen for a second and then the screen goes blank, seems to shut off from the noise it makes when it goes blank. I have replaced all of the fuses as far as I can see, just incase but still no luck, don’t see and burns or obviously blown out caps. Do you guys have any suggestions as what to try next?

We would start off by checking the power supply to make sure everything is getting the correct voltage. There’s an article on Elektron Forge that talks about testing a Space Invaders power supply that might help you out. Here’s the link: http://www.elektronforge.com/TestMdwPS.htm. If you’re not getting the correct voltage then you will need to replace or rebuild the power supply. Let us know if you’re getting good power and we’ll help you out from there.
