test switch
Question from Joseph: I’m thinking of building a jamma based arcade machine (multi game) for my personal “man cave”. I helped at an arcade business so I know a little about the insides, but I’m curious about the “test switch” connector. how or do I hook that up? Thank you for your help with this.

The test switch allows you to get into the configuration menu of your arcade board. From this menu, you can usually change coin, gameplay, auditing and other options. You can either connect the test switch wire and a ground wire to an actual 2-state switch (like this one from Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062497) or to a push button.
You typically find the test and service switches inside the coin door on a standard arcade cabinet. A lot of guys like to buy a pre-built bracket that has the service and test switches on it so they can mount them easily.
