Twitching Sanyo Screen
Question from Jacob: Hey there. So recently I sent in a question about my Sanyo and after some info, I decided to cap my monitor (Bob Roberts Deluxe Kit). It went well and now my monitor looks crisp and full (it used to be dim on the bottom); however, now there are certain parts of the screen that twitch. It’s very subtle but it’s noticeable when it happens in the middle of the screen. In addition, now when I first power on the machine, the screen is sort of shaky but stabilizes in about 10 seconds. When I did the kit, I replaced the filter cap and managed to get the B+ to 107.9V, so I don’t think that’s the issue. My power plug to the wall only has two prongs so I plan on replacing it with one that has a ground prong as well (because I read sometimes improper grounding can be the problem). If that doesn’t fix it, what do you think the problem could be? Sincerely, Jacob

Response from Jonathan: Jacob,
Usually we would recommend doing a cap kit and checking the B+ voltage as you have done. Of course, improper grounding can also cause issues like this so hopefully adding a plug with a ground prong will help as well. With those steps out of the way, you might check out the Sanyo 20EZ Picture Weaving page on Bob Roberts site. Even though this might not be the exact problem you are facing, the repair steps described (beyond what you’ve already done) should help with your issue.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
