UPDATE: Neo Geo 4 Slot with jittery monitor

Question from Tim: Hey guys, thanks a lot for answering my question on the podcast. I figured I would give you guys an update. The v-hold monitor wire did pop off when I touched it again. I’m lucky to have my old and wise father help me on this with the soldering. I noticed you guys said a molex connector on the end of the wire. We stripped the wire heated up the wire, and poked it through the hole. I don’t know if this is the correct way, but it did bring the monitor to life again. All though, I still noticed the same jittering every once in a while. My next step is to replace the pod. Where do you guys purchase or get your hands on one of these?

Thanks again, and keep up the good work!
Tim

Response from Jonathan: Tim,

We’re glad that you were able to somewhat fix the problem. Sometimes these wires have Molex connectors and sometimes they do not. It sounds like in your particular case they did not which makes it just a simple solder job. As far as getting your hands on a pot, check out Bob Roberts (http://www.therealbobroberts.net/pots.html). He is one of our preferred parts suppliers and should have the right pot for your chassis. If you need help identifying which one you need, please take a picture of it and send it to us. Thanks for your question and good luck with your future repairs.
