Xbox/PlayStation to JAMMA adapter?

Question from Bruce: Hey! I just discovered your YouTube page and I wanted to say THANK YOU! It’s super informative! I just started a business selling JAMMA ready arcade cabinets (for legal reasons I don’t include the multigame boards). I don’t know very much about how to work on the games (my background is in marketing) and your videos have been super helpful!

Question. Do you sell a JAMMA to Xbox/PlayStation adapter? I have several customers who want to be able to play both a PANDORA’S BOX JAMMA board and be able to unplug the PANDORA and plug in their Xbox/PlayStation. I’m also thinking about including the PlayStation with the cabinets, that way I can legally sell them with games installed.

Any info you can provide would be super helpful!

Thanks again!
Bruce

So, we do not sell any parts and I’m not sure who would have this type of adapter. With that said, you could accomplish this by using a controller encoder board (like this one: https://amzn.to/3ik3Roi) for the controls and a HDMI to VGA/DVI & audio converter for the video and sound (assuming your monitor doesn’t already take an HDMI input). If you wanted to accomplish this through a JAMMA harness, you would need to wire the controller encoder board up through a JAMMA fingerboard (like this one: https://bit.ly/hc-jamma-fingerboard). In this case, you would solder wires from the appropriate locations on the JAMMA fingerboard to the corresponding locations on the controller encoder board.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your questions and good luck with your future repairs.
