Question from Justin: Hello all!! I’m hoping you can help me out with a Street Fighter 2 zback I purchased that’s all dismantled. I have all the wires figured out except for the 4 pole toggle switch, that has a fuse in line with it, mounted inside the coin box on the frame. The four wires go into a molex connector and I’m not sure how they wire up to power the unit. I’m missing the bit of harness that plugged into that Molex. Hopefully your experience with these can help me out. Thank you for your time. Justin
P.S. The switcher power supply is up by the game board. I don’t have that wired up yet.
Response from Jonathan: Justin,
Unfortunately it’s hard to know exactly where every wire and connector goes without tracing them down to make sure they are connected to the right places. On the switch, these types of switches usually use one pair for input (i.e. AC coming in from the plug) and one pair for output (i.e. wires going out to supply power to the rest of the cabinet). Look at the switch itself to see if there are any identifying marks that might tell you which pair is which. You could also test the switch with a multimeter using the continuity check to see which pins are connected together when the switch is in the On position. On wiring the rest of the cabinet, we highly recommend checking out the AC Wiring page on The Real Bob Roberts website. At the bottom of the page, he has a diagram that shows each part and how power gets to and from it. Hopefully this diagram will help you reconstruct the wiring in your cabinet. Of course, please let us know if you have any additional questions and we’ll try to help you out further.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your questions and good luck with your repair.
