I could use some help on where to drop back to :-)

Question from Dennis: So, I switched the board in my cabinet from Beastorizer to a 60-in-1. I also rotated the monitor (a 24″ Wells Gardner). I hooked everything up then I could not get the monitor to adjust correctly like I had two images and they kept rolling a lot.

After many attempts and checking all your videos, I went back to look at my wiring. I noticed I had put white to white and black to black but looking at the video board the white was off to the side like a ground. So I switched my two wires and now it seems to fit the as it should; however, I played so much with vertical and horizontal hold and position I cannot stop and get it aligned. Suggestions?

Dennis

Response from Jonathan: Dennis,

Unfortunately there is no cut and dry way to get the adjustments back to where they were. You will need to “play” with them to see if you can get the picture the way that you like it. Make sure you check out our post on Adjusting An Arcade Monitor for more information on the process.

Of course, there’s a good chance that you were pulling on some wires and shifting the monitor chassis when you were rotating the monitor which could lead to some broken wires or solder joints. It’s a good idea to give the monitor chassis a thorough inspection just to make sure everything is connected properly. Touch up any solder joints that look suspicious with new solder to ensure the connection is made. Also, double check your monitor input wiring from the board using the manual for the monitor to ensure that the right wires are going to the right positions on the monitor input connector.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
