ms. pacman, frogger, DK jr., galaga (9 game cabinet)

Question from Anthony: My wife was given a yellow Ms. Pac Man cabinet by her father and I would like to get the screen to stop scrolling, but I’m afraid to mess with it without documentation or knowledge of what I’m doing — she’d kill me. I came across your website after some not-so-nice arcade sellers immediately told me no for help. I’ve opened it up and cannot find manufacturer or any type of labeling. When you turn the cabinet on, the screen scrolls to the left over and over, quickly, gradually slows down and eventually stops. It can take a while. Can you give me some direction? Anthony

Response from Jonathan: Anthony,

Typically this type of issue (horizontal or vertical scrolling) can be solve by adjusting the vertical or horizontal hold potentiometers on the monitor chassis. Check out our post on Adjusting An Arcade Monitor for more information. More than likely one of these pots probably moved out of alignment when the game itself was moved. It should be a pretty easy fix.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
