Question from Ignacio: Hello,

I just acquired a NeoGeo arcade cabinet, and noticed that there were some issues with the color. I went online looking for some possible solutions and came about your post regarding ‘adjusting an arcade monitor’ (http://www.arcaderepairtips.com/2009/10/14/adjusting-an-arcade-monitor/). The video was very insightful and helped me improve some of the bleeding and focus. However, the main issue I have is still there and would like to know if you have any tips on how to fix it.

The issue is that there is no red color showing. When I turn the cabinet on without games on it and go to the color test screen, green/blue/white show fine, but the red square is missing. I played around with the drive and cutoff for the red color, and I saw some red toning coming on (the whole screen gained a bit of a red tint). However, the red squared remained empty.

Since I was able to get some red tinting on the screen, I assume the monitor is not the problem, so I was wondering if you think it might be the PCB / Motherboard that is damaged or maybe a broken connection? This is the first experience I have with a cabinet like that, so I wouldn’t know where to start into trying to fix the issue. Any tips you can give me?
